Paul Stelben

Paul Stelben is a music teacher, freelance carillonist, and computer programmer based in Philadelphia, PA. Paul grew up in Connecticut studying piano and bassoon, and at Yale, he studied carillon with Ellen Dickinson. Now, he works as the Arts Program Coordinator for the ASPIRA of PA public charter school network in Philadelphia, teaching high school music and organizing after school arts programs. Paul passed his carillonneur exam to join the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in 2019, and he has published numerous arrangements of carillon music through ArrangeMe. He continues to play regularly in the Philadelphia area. On the side, Paul develops software for non-targeted analysis of contaminants (such as PFAS) for the Pollitt Lab at the Yale School of Public Health. He also enjoys jamming with friends, playing Frisbee, and exploring the world on foot.

The carillon can be heard from the grounds around the tower including the Case Western Reserve Campus behind the tower away from the Euclid Avenue traffic noise. Concerts are rain or shine and your car is also a place to hear the concert. Horn honking is an accepted form of applause at the end of the program.
